Is It Down? Get Outage Alerts From X Before the Status Page
Users tweet about an outage before most status pages update. Get an alert when people on X report that a tool you depend on is down.
Short answer: when a service goes down, the first signal is usually people on X asking "is it down?". Create an AyeWatch X search monitor like (chatgpt OR openai) (down OR outage OR "not working"), add the filter "people reporting it is down right now", and you hear about outages from users, not from a status page that updates late.
Set it up
- Open Create a monitor → X. Keep Search.
- Type the service name plus outage words:
down, outage,"not working",502. - In Only alert me about, write "people reporting [service] is down right now". It drops jokes and old news.
- Pick Hourly or ASAP mode on Pro+ and click Create monitor.

What you get
The first check saves the current posts as a starting point, so you are not flooded with old ones. After that, every check that finds something new sends one alert. The headline is the post itself, or "3 new from …" when several land at once, with a link to each post and its text.

Several reports in one alert is the signal. One person's bad Wi-Fi is a single post.
Alerts land in your feed and as push in the AyeWatch iOS and Android app. On Pro and Pro+ you can also turn on email, Slack, or a webhook.
What it costs
X search with the filter is 3 credits a check.
| Check every | Credits a day | Plan that fits |
|---|---|---|
| Every 3 hours | 24 | Pro+ |
| Hourly | 72 | Pro+ with top-ups |
Plans: Free Preview gives you 3 credits to try a monitor on a daily check. Pro is $9 a month for 500 credits and checks as often as hourly. Pro+ is $19 a month for 1,500 credits and adds ASAP mode. Failed checks are refunded, and the form shows the exact daily credit use before you save.
Run a service yourself? Search your own product name to hear about outages from customers. Also monitor the vendor's status page with a webpage monitor.
