Twitter RSS Feed in 2026: What Still Works

X has no RSS feeds and most Nitter feeds are gone. Here's how to get an account's or a search's new tweets by email, Slack or webhook instead.

By AyeWatch Team··3 min read

Short answer: X has never offered official RSS feeds, and most public Nitter instances that used to provide them went offline after X closed guest access. The RSS generators that remain break often. If what you want is "tell me when this account or search has new tweets", an AyeWatch X monitor does that and sends each new tweet by email, Slack or webhook. It does not output an RSS feed.

Why Twitter RSS keeps breaking

  • X has no RSS endpoint, so every feed is a scraper underneath.
  • Scrapers need logged-in accounts and get rate limited. That's why "twitter rss feed not working" is a common search.
  • Feed readers poll quietly. When a feed dies, you just stop seeing tweets.

The replacement: an X monitor

  1. Open Create a monitor → X.
  2. For one account, choose Profile and paste the link, like https://x.com/northwindlabs. For a keyword feed, keep Search and type the query.
  3. Pick how often to check and click Create monitor.

What you get instead of feed items

The first check saves the current posts as a starting point, so you are not flooded with old ones. After that, every check that finds something new sends one alert. The headline is the post itself, or "3 new from …" when several land at once, with a link to each post and its text.

If a check fails, you aren't charged and the monitor tries again on the next run. On Pro and Pro+, a webhook gives you the same thing an RSS item would: JSON for each new tweet, sent to your own URL.

Alerts land in your feed and as push in the AyeWatch iOS and Android app. On Pro and Pro+ you can also turn on email, Slack, or a webhook.

FAQ

Does AyeWatch give me an RSS URL?

No. It sends each new tweet to your feed, the mobile app, email, Slack or a webhook. If your tool only reads RSS, use the webhook with an automation tool instead.

Can I make an RSS feed from an X search?

Not an RSS file, but an X Search monitor alerts you to new tweets for any query, with X search operators.

Is there a free Twitter RSS feed?

Some free generators exist, but they depend on scraping that X blocks often. AyeWatch's Free Preview gives you 3 credits to try a monitor.
