Reddit Webhook: Send New Posts to Your App or Discord Bot

Short answer: create an AyeWatch Reddit monitor (a subreddit, a search or a user), then set your URL in Settings → Webhooks. Each check that finds new posts sends one signed JSON POST with those posts. You don't register a Reddit app or host a bot. Webhooks are on Pro and Pro+.

Set it up

1. Create the source: Create a monitor → Reddit, then pick the mode and paste the subreddit link or type a query.
2. Optional: add Only alert me about so the bot only posts what matters.
3. In Settings → Webhooks, paste your HTTPS endpoint, save and copy the secret.
4. Check the X-AyeWatch-Signature header (HMAC-SHA256 of the raw body) and return a 2xx.

content_detail has each post as a Markdown link. Deduplicate on update_id, since failed deliveries are retried up to 10 times. Full reference: webhook docs.

Posting to Discord

AyeWatch doesn't post to Discord directly yet. A short handler can turn the payload into a Discord message: verify the signature, then POST {"content": headline + content_detail} to your Discord channel's webhook URL. For Slack, use the built-in Slack integration instead.

The first check saves the current posts as a starting point, so you are not flooded with old ones. After that, every check that finds something new sends one alert. The headline is the post itself, or "3 new from …" when several land at once, with a link to each post and its text.
