How to Track Hashtags on X (Twitter)
Get an alert when new posts use a hashtag on X. Track one tag or several, filter out spam, and see what it costs.
Short answer: X has no hashtag alerts. Create an X search monitor in AyeWatch with the hashtag as the query. Each check reads X's Latest results, and you get an alert when new posts use the tag.
Set it up
- Open Create a monitor → X and keep Search.
- Type the hashtag, like
#buildinpublic lang:en. - Optional: write a filter in Only alert me about, like "founders sharing revenue or launch milestones". Busy tags are full of spam and engagement bait. The filter keeps the posts you would actually read.
- Pick how often to check and click Create monitor.

What you get
The first check saves the current posts as a starting point, so you are not flooded with old ones. After that, every check that finds something new sends one alert. The headline is the post itself, or "3 new from …" when several land at once, with a link to each post and its text.
Alerts land in your feed and as push in the AyeWatch iOS and Android app. On Pro and Pro+ you can also turn on email, Slack, or a webhook.
What it costs
An X search check uses 2 credits, or 3 with the filter. A daily check with the filter is about 90 credits a month. A few checks a day is about 360, which fits Pro at $9 a month.
