Wellfound Job Alerts
Startup roles fill before the weekly digest. Watch the public jobs URL, not the newsletter.

Wellfound job alerts are for startup roles that fill before the weekly digest. Wellfound still mails a roundup. Startup hiring still moves on founder Slack and on the company's own page. If you wait for the newsletter, the founding engineer role already has a shortlist.
AyeWatch is not Wellfound, not Easy Apply, and not a scrape of a logged-in talent profile. You watch a public jobs URL. That can be a company's Wellfound jobs page if it loads without a login, or the company's own careers page, which is often the faster source anyway.
Why startup roles vanish
Headcount at a 20-person company is a handful of seats. Referrals close them. A weekly digest is a recap of a market that already moved. Title keywords make it worse. Founding designer and brand designer may be the same seat with different words week to week.
If you have a list of ten startups, those ten careers URLs are the watch. A site-wide Wellfound search is a firehose. AyeWatch will not log into Wellfound and it will not auto-apply. Public page or skip it.
Public pages and company sites
Prefer the company's /careers or ATS board when you can find it. Greenhouse, Lever, and Ashby show up constantly next to Wellfound profiles. Paste that index. Name the role and location. Use a topic only if you also want news about the round, not as a substitute for the jobs URL.
The job openings template is the right shape. Recruiters watching a startup's page after a raise are doing the same thing from the other side of the table. Freelancers can watch for contract rows that appear beside the full-time list.
Digest versus a page watch
Free Preview is six lifetime runs across three topics, Daily or slower, with push and the in-app feed. That is a fair test against one week of Wellfound mail. Pro is $9 a month, 50 topics, and a six-hour check. Paid plans add email, Slack, Discord, and webhooks. Push on Preview is the channel to use if you will apply the same day.
Six hours is not instant. For a weekly digest refugee it is still a different sport. You hear about the listing on the next check of the source page, not in Saturday's roundup.

Keep a resume PDF and a note that names the product, not a generic "I love startups" paragraph. When the alert names a role you would take, send it before you open the digest. Start with the three companies you already stalk. Add more when the first ping is a real job.
