Short answer: Reddit has no keyword alerts. Create a Reddit search monitor in AyeWatch: type the words, add an optional filter that says which posts you actually want, and get an alert when a new post matches. It costs 1 credit a check.
Set it up
- Open Create a monitor → Reddit.
- In Monitor, keep Search for all of Reddit, or pick Search in subreddit and paste the subreddit link.
- Type the query, like
"notion" (slow OR outage OR alternative). Use quotes for exact phrases and OR for alternatives. - Optional: write the rule in Only alert me about, like "complaints about Notion or people looking to switch". It drops jokes, memes and posts that only use the word in passing. It adds 1 credit a check.
- Pick how often to check and click Create monitor.
All of Reddit or one subreddit?
- Search covers all of Reddit. Use it for brand names and product mentions that can land anywhere.
- Search in subreddit covers one community. Use it for a common word that only means something in one place, like "proxmox" in r/selfhosted.

What you get
The first check saves the current posts as a starting point, so you are not flooded with old ones. After that, every check that finds something new sends one alert. The headline is the post itself, or "3 new from …" when several land at once, with a link to each post and its text.
