News Alert App
Name the beat. Get a push when that story breaks. Skip the morning roundup that already recapped it.

A news alert app watches topics you name and pushes the story when it actually breaks.
Most "news apps" are a homepage with a bell icon. You follow a section. You get a push for whatever the editors put in that section. That is fine for general news. It is a waste if your beat is one company, one bill, one clinical readout, or one product category. You did not need the whole world. You needed one story, on time.
AyeWatch is not a newspaper. It is a monitor you carry as push. You name the topic in English. You can add URLs for the outlet pages or company rooms you already babysit. When a matching story or page change lands, you get a summary on the phone. Google Alerts can email a keyword. It cannot push a URL watch, and it will not summarize why the hit matched.
Push, not a morning digest
A digest is a roundup. By the time it arrives, the people who needed the story already moved. Push is for the miss you cannot afford. Use it for a named beat, not for "tech" or "markets." Those words will wake you all night. "FDA decision or complete response letter for this drug" is a beat. "Anything about rates" is a hobby.
Journalists already living in a CMS can start from AI tools for journalists. PR desks that need coverage, not a clip archive, can use media monitoring for PR teams. If you came from keyword mail, the Google Alerts alternative post is the migration note. vs Google Alerts is the feature table.
Topics you name
Write the rule like a text to a colleague. "Ping me when this company announces a shutdown, a layoff, or a plant closure. Skip earnings-preview chatter." Add the company newsroom URL if they post there first. Add the regulator page if the beat lives there. One topic per beat. Two beats in one watch is how the mute button wins.
Free Preview is six lifetime runs across three topics, Daily or slower, push and in-app. That is a test of the rule, not a 24-hour desk. Pro is $9 a month, 50 topics, six-hour checks. Hourly is Pro+. ASAP is Max and Ultra. Paid plans add email, Slack, Discord, webhooks, and a REST API if the newsroom already lives in those channels.

Try AyeWatch freeWhat this app is not
It is not a wire service. It is not Bloomberg. It is not a ticket bot that files your follow-up. It will not replace the outlet you should still read. It will not push every related headline because a model felt generous. If the first alerts are noisy, the beat is too wide. Narrow it. Keep Google Alerts if you only wanted a casual keyword email and a morning skim is enough.
Start with the one story type you already refresh Twitter for. If the first push would have saved you that refresh, keep the watch and delete the vanity follows.
