Reddit community, AyeWatch monitoring template
The reddit community template in AyeWatch. Fill in the blanks and it starts running.

Why this template

What it is for.

Important threads bury themselves in an hour. Reddit’s own mail is noisy. A generic web monitor treats r/foo like any other page and often gets the login wall.

The actual subreddit, not a Google recap

The monitor uses the official r/name listing and post pages. Other subs stay out.

Keywords if you want them

Leave keywords blank to see new posts. Add GGUF or a product name to narrow it.

Not brand listening

This is one community, not Instagram, TikTok, or a mention dashboard.

Use cases

Where people use it.

A product community

Watch r/LocalLLaMA for a model or format you ship on.

A support beat

Catch recurring complaint threads in a niche sub before they become a wiki page.

Research

Follow a technical sub for papers, releases, and firsthand reports.

How to use it

Four steps. A blank or two.

  1. 1

    Open this template

Click Use this template. Sign in if you need to, and AyeWatch opens this reddit community monitor, not a blank form.

  2. 2

    Fill in the blanks

You fill in: Subreddit + optional keywords. Optional fields stay optional.

  3. 3

    Choose how often to check

Auto tunes the pace for you. Custom lets you pick any speed your plan unlocks.

  4. 4

    Start the monitor

Alerts land in your feed and as a push. Paid plans add email, Slack, Discord, and webhooks. Templates are included with every paid plan.

What you fill in

  • SubredditRequired

For example: LocalLLaMA, r/LocalLLaMA, or a reddit.com/r/… link.

  • KeywordsOptional

Optional. For example: GGUF, Qwen, or a product name.

Suggested speeds: A few times a day, Daily, Weekly. Subreddits move through the day, but hourly checks are rarely worth it unless a thread is breaking.

  • Paste r/name or the reddit.com/r/… URL. Either works.
  • One subreddit per monitor. Split noisy communities.
  • Daily is enough for most subs. Use 6-hour checks when a thread is breaking.

FAQ

Reddit community template, answered.

Do you scrape every comment?
No. You get new posts from the official listing, then the post body when we can read it. This is not a full-thread archive.
Can I watch all of Reddit for a brand?
Not with this template. Use a topic monitor or News tracking for broader coverage. Brand-wide social listening is a different product.
