What is Topic Tracking?

Topic tracking is the continuous monitoring of an idea, theme, or subject across many sources, where the system understands the concept rather than just matching exact keywords.

Long definition

Topic tracking generalizes keyword alerting: instead of saying 'alert me on the string FDA approval,' the user describes a concept and the system uses semantic models to evaluate matches. This catches phrasings keywords miss ('FDA greenlights' vs 'FDA approves') and suppresses irrelevant matches (an unrelated mention of 'FDA approval' in a comedy podcast).

Examples

  • Tracking 'breakthroughs in battery energy density'.
  • Tracking 'AI regulation in the EU and UK'.
  • Tracking 'GLP-1 weight-loss drug clinical results'.
