Product Hunt Alerts
Know when a competitor, category, or keyword launches on Product Hunt.

Product Hunt alerts tell you when a competitor, category, or keyword launches on PH.
PH still concentrates a certain kind of launch. Devtools, AI wrappers, and "we made a nicer dashboard" all try the homepage. You find out when a mutual upvotes it, or when a reporter asks for comment. That is late if the launch is a clone of your paid feature. The homepage email from Product Hunt is a firehose. You need the one card that names your category or your rival.
Watch the launch, not the karma
Paste the Product Hunt homepage or a topic URL if you insist on a page watch. A topic is cleaner. "Product Hunt launches in [category] or by [competitor]. Skip maker interviews with no new product." AyeWatch reads the public page and related coverage. It does not rank products and it will not buy you upvotes.
Launches leak on HN the same day. Keep HN monitoring if that room is your customer. Broader ship signals, jobs and changelogs, sit in competitor product launch monitoring. Model-flavored hunts belong next to AI model release tracking only if the hunt is actually a model drop.
How to set it
Name the category in words a maker would use. "incident.io alternatives," "changelog widgets," "local LLM apps." Name the rival companies. Ask for the product name, the maker claim, and whether it overlaps your feature set. Ignore "cameo" posts and newsletter spam that PH also hosts.
Free Preview is six lifetime runs across three topics. Pro is $9 a month. Push on launch morning if you reply in public. Email if you only log rivals in a weekly note. Reddit recap threads are covered in Reddit brand mentions if that is where the pile-on goes.

Try AyeWatch freePH is not your whole launch radar
Plenty of serious vendors never hunt. If you only watch PH you will miss a docs changelog and a careers spike. Use this topic as one sensor. Pricing pages and GitHub releases still do more work for B2B. Start a hunt watch anyway if your buyers hang out there. That is most consumer-ish devtools.
Use the next hunt as the test
When a rival or a lookalike goes live, you should get a short summary and a link, not a screenshot of the whole leaderboard. If the first hit is junk, rewrite the category words. Then stop refreshing the hunt tab at 12:01 Pacific.
