Competitor Changelog Monitor

Watch the shipping log, not the launch blog. Get a ping when they actually cut a release.

Horizontal charcoal lines of uneven length, one line terracotta

A competitor changelog monitor tells you they shipped before the launch blog post does.

The launch blog is theater. Embargo, quote from the CEO, a pretty diagram. The changelog is the ship. A one-line note that SSO moved to Pro. A buried "beta" that is already in production. Product hears about it from a customer. That is the failure mode.

AyeWatch watches the changelog URL, the docs whats-new page, or the GitHub releases page, and summarizes what landed. It is not a battlecard CMS. It will not write your enablement deck. It will name the change in a sentence you can drop in Slack. If you only watch the homepage, you will see a campaign. The shipping log is where the product actually moved. Watch that page even when marketing is quiet.

Watch the shipping log

Paste the page they actually update. /changelog. /releases. docs.example.com/whats-new. Some teams only update GitHub. Watch that instead of the marketing site. Write the rule so trivia stays out. "Ping me when they add, remove, or gate a feature. Ignore dependency bumps and copy edits."

If the rival is open-source adjacent, GitHub release alerts is the same job on tags and RFCs. Launches that still leak through jobs and domains are covered in competitor product launch monitoring. SaaS desks that treat shipping as GTM should keep this next to SaaS competitive monitoring.

What a useful ping sounds like

Bad ping. "The changelog page changed." Good ping. "They added audit logs on Business and moved SSO off Enterprise." You cannot sell against a screenshot of HTML. You can sell against a named feature that just became table stakes.

Use the competitor monitoring template and point it at the changelog URL, not the homepage. AyeWatch for SaaS is the audience page if product and sales share the same channel.

Price

Free Preview is six lifetime runs across three topics. No card. One changelog URL is a clean first test. Pro is $9/month. Push if you want it the morning they ship. Email if a digest is fine.

Start with the log you already open when a customer says "they just launched that." If the first summary names the ship, add the next competitor's releases page. Leave the launch blog for later. It is slower on purpose.
