Adverse Media Screening
Negative-news watch for KYC, vendors, and execs on the public web. Not a sanctioned-list terminal, and not Bloomberg.

Adverse media screening is negative-news monitoring for KYC, vendors, and execs, without a Bloomberg terminal. Compliance teams search that phrase and often mean a full vendor: sanctioned lists, PEP databases, and a case manager. AyeWatch is not that vendor.
AyeWatch is a public-web news watch. You describe the person or company and the kinds of stories that would fail a review. It reads public pages and sends a short summary when those stories appear. Use it next to the screening tool you already pay for. Do not rip out World-Check and paste this in the gap.
What adverse media means here
Fraud allegations, bribery, sanctions reporting in the press, environmental incidents, labor claims, lawsuits, and "investigation" language next to a named entity. The corpus is the open web: news, blogs, regulator pages that are public HTML. The output is an alert with a summary, not a risk score that will survive an audit on its own.
Meltwater has a press database AyeWatch does not. If your policy says "search licensed news archives," you still need Meltwater, Dow Jones, or a true KYC media module. A Meltwater alternative that pretends otherwise will fail the next exam. AyeWatch is the public page that showed up this afternoon while the archive was still catching up.
Not a sanctioned-list KYC vendor
No OFAC feed. No PEP list. No adverse-media taxonomy mapped to your policy IDs. No case management. If an RFP asks for those, stop. For human review of public news on a vendor or an exec, keep going. Due diligence monitoring is the same idea with a deal-team accent. Executive announcement monitoring covers the planned biography moves this watch will also see.
Name collisions are the practical pain. "James Kim" will match the wrong James Kim. Put the company, the role, and the city in the topic. Unusual legal names work better. You will still get junk. A human has to dismiss it. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling a score.

Free Preview is six lifetime runs across three topics. No card.
Try AyeWatch freeA public-web watch that still helps
Onboard a vendor with one topic for the legal name plus fraud, lawsuit, investigation. Refresh an exec file with one topic for the officer plus the company. Free Preview is six lifetime runs, three topics, Daily or slower, push and in-app. That is enough to see whether the summaries are specific. It is not a compliance program.
Pro is $9 a month, 50 topics, 6-hour. Pro+ is 150 topics, hourly. Email, Slack, Discord, webhooks, and API are paid. Route hits to the analyst who already owns the case, not to a general marketing channel. Adverse media is negative news on the public web. That is the whole product claim. The sanctioned-list APIs stay where they are.
How to write the topic
Start from the entity on the form, not from a slogan. Include aliases you already collected. Name the harms your policy cares about. Tell it to skip job boards and earnings recaps that only repeat a ticker. When an alert fires, open the URL and record why it is or is not adverse. You still make the decision.
